Todavía no he llegado a la India y ya empiezan las dificultades, ya que intentar reservar un billete de tren por tu cuenta no es una tarea nada fácil.
Primero, porque si intentas hacerlo directamente por la página oficial de la India, no hay quien se aclare. Y si tu consigues hacerlo te agradecería que me lo explicaras (http://www.indianrail.gov.in/).
Segundo, porque la web donde es más fácil comprarlos (https://www.irctc.co.in), debes tener un teléfono hindú para poder registrarte (no me preguntéis porqué.....). Pero existe una forma para poder hacerlo:
1) Entra en la web "https://www.irctc.co.in/" y aprieta en "signup".
2)Rellena todos los datos y cuando llegue el momento de rellenar el campo teléfono, no te preocupes, invéntate uno (es obligatorio rellenar este campo).
3)Si has rellenado correctamente todos tus datos, recibirás un correo con el siguiente encabezado: "SUCCESSFUL REGISTRATION".
4) A continuación deberás enviar un correo a la siguiente dirección: "care@irctc.co.in", con tu nombre de usuario y una copia de tu pasaporte escaneado, comentándoles que no tienes teléfono hindú y que te gustaría registrarte en su web para comprar billetes de tren online.
5) Inmediatamente recibirás un correo con la confirmación de tu correo. Y sobre 24-36 horas después recibirás otro correo con el código que deberás introducir en la web para finalizar con el registro satisfactoriamente (parece difícil pero es más fácil de lo que parece. Si lo hice yo, cualquiera puede hacerlo....)
Y tras toda este rollo, sólo falta que llegue el momento de empezar a comprar los billetes y la odisea de viajar en tren. Ya que os podéis imaginar como tiene que ser viajar en este medio de transporte en la India, donde un viaje de 485kms (distancia comprendida entre Nueva Delhi y Bikaner, nuestro primer trayecto) se hace en 8 horas y media, si todo va bien porque normalmente hay que sumarle unas cuantas horas de retraso....)
Y para acabar este capítulo sobre el transporte en la India, os voy a nombrar las distintas categorías que podemos encontrar para viajar en tren (con una imagen para que os hagáis una idea):
1) Primera clase con aire acondicionado (AC1), la más cara. Compartimentos de dos a cuatro literas (puertas con cerradura y comidas incluidas)
2) Segunda clase con aire acondicionado (AC2), dos filas de literas de cuatro y dos en vagones de planta abierta. Las literas se convierten en asientos durante el día y hay cortinas (para que haya cierta intimidad).
3) Tercera clase con aire acondicionado (AC3), 3 filas de literas de seis en vagones de planta abierta y sin cortinas.
4) Asiento de ejecutivo AC. Asientos cómodos y reclinables, y abundante espacio.
5) Asiento AC. Parecido al vagón de asiento de ejecutivo pero con asientos menos lujosos.
6) Coche cama. vagones de planta abierta con literas de tres niveles sin aire acondicionado; las ventanas pueden abrirse.
7) Segunda clase sin reserva. Asientos duros y mucha gente.
Cuando monte en el primer tren, prometo que os haré un reportaje súper gráfico de las diferentes categorías para que os podáis hacer una idea, por si alguna vez vais a la India....

6) car bed. open-plan carriages with bunks three levels without air conditioning, the windows can be opened.
7) second class unreserved. Hard seats and a lot of people
